Installation Guide
Installation Guide - Hardwood Screening Panels, Privacy Screens
Timber Screens LA screens can be installed onto an existing sturdy wall or fence, or onto a standalone frame.
We recommend a qualified tradesperson perform the installation.
Pre Installation:
Measure up your installation area, noting the total length and height of the area to be screened. Each Timber Screens LA screening panel is 3 feet wide - calculate how many panels you require for the space. You can easily cut the screens down to a desired width or height to fit.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Screens from Timber Screens LA
A structure to attach the screens onto
A spirit level
4 x 2" galvanized screws per screen
A couple of spare hands
Installation:
STEP 1: Identify a sturdy fence, wall, or frame to mount the screens onto. Alternatively, build a frame from posts and horizontal backer rails. Ensure the heights of the backer rails match the top and bottom height of the timber screen rails so you can screw the screens directly onto them. If you’re building a frame, we suggest using 4" x 4" posts and 2" x 4' rails.
We advise a maximum of 3 screens between post centres.
STEP 2: Line up the top and bottom rails of the screening panels with the fence backing rails. Use a level to ensure the screen is square.
Using a long drill bit to easily fit between the vertical battens, screw the top and bottom rails of the screen into the backing rail. We suggest 2 x 2" galvanised screws per rail (4 per screen).
Repeat the process for the next screen, each screen is designed to have a seamless space between the end battens.
STEP 3: Sit back and admire your work with a cold drink!
